Objective and Scope of the Conference


In the age of the continuously changing global steel market, the importance of competitiveness, i.e. considering and fulfilling the increasing requirements of steel users for the performance and reliability of steel products is greater than ever. Knowledge on the theory and practice of clean steel technologies and on cleanness assessment has been continuously improving since 2015 when Clean Steel 9 was held.

The objective of Clean Steel 10 is to provide a forum for the presentation and discussion of the latest achievements in this important field of the science and technology of steel and to bring experts together, who work in different countries in the above areas to exchange their experiences and views.

Following the call for papers 58 abstracts from 24 countries all over the world were received. According to the International Committee the quality of papers is very high; covering the most important fields including

  • inclusion formation and modification,
  • simulation and model calculations,
  • Ca in clean steel making,
  • influence of slags and fluxes,,
  • secondary metallurgy,
  • steel cleanness and continuous casting,
  • assessment of steel cleanness,
  • influence of cleanness on steel properties.
